WindowSeat iPhone App Review

Travelers and businessmen that are frequent flyers will definitely love the WindowSeat app. Basically the WindowSeat app tracks exactly where you are in a specific flight. This app was developed by AppOven LLC for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Before you download this app your device must have iOS 4.1 or higher. You can download this app from the App Store for $6.99. This might be quite pricey for some people but it’s well worth the price for frequent fliers.

WindowSeat has quite impressive features. Since you may have to pay to use the airline’s Wi – Fi service the developers of this app created it so that it will still function without GPS. This app has saved countless of travel routes between two destinations within the continental United States including weather patterns and timing.

WindowSeat works by having the user program their departure and destination cities before they take off and then the map will plot it out. Then put away your device for the take off. As soon as you are allowed to check your device, launch WindowSeat and the app will show a countdown that indicates the travel time. You will be given an image of a map with an airplane flying over it as an indicator of your location that can be zoomed in and out.

If you are in a different route, simply tap the arrow icon to choose one out of 5 most traveled routes for that specific flight. You can also monitor the miles travelled and speed located under the countdown clock in the center of the screen. All over the map you will also notice red dots that indicate towns, cities, lakes, national landmarks, mountains and so on. Simply tap on a specific dot and you will be presented some background information about that specific location.

WindowSeat is an amazing app. Since this app is quite expensive, this app is truly recommended for people that travel quite often so that they can make good use of it. Although a lot of airlines provide flight information similar to the WindowSeat app but it is usually presented on a monitor that is located several seats away from you and is difficult to view. In this situation WindowSeat is a very useful app to have especially during long boring flights.
